{Biography}

It's hard to specify when did the project that grew to become Beyond the Realm started. But it was about 2 and a half years ago, when Ivan and Rocha started playing together and prophesizing a realm beyond. When Nuno joined in to play drums the project began acquiring shape and a few months later with Pedro's allegiance as the singer it gained form. But to complete the lineup another guitarist was needed so Ivan brought in his old school friend Macedo to join the project. After a while without a settled place to rehearse Beyond the Realm moved to Rocha's house and started working. At this time Macedo was unavailable. A few months passed and Beyond the Realm had to pack and leave seeking new rehearsal grounds. This stalled the project for a while, and after some time Beyond the Realm found the common ground at Claudio's Garage. Things were moving along, Macedo got back in the band but in the same day Pedro decided to quit... After trying out a couple of singers Nelson joined the project in the summer of 2004 taking the helm on the vocals. With this lineup the work continued but it wasn't long until a new problem showed up, Nelson had to leave due to his studies, so Reno (guitar for Karnak Seti) joined the band as the new singer. The lineup did not remain as Nuno decided to leave the band, replaced by Claudio (bass for Karnak Seti), that rehearsed for sometime untill he also left leaving a vacancy for the drums. The search for a drummer ceased in February of 2005 when Ivan met Duarte through his friend Lu..s. After sometime Reno had to leave the band due to his work. And just as unpredictable problems came, also solutions were found, Beyond the Realm set out looking for a singer. Stumbling across a flyer in a local bar, from a swedish guy that was in Madeira for only a year [Jakob], Ivan decided to call Jakob and presented him the oportunity to join Beyond The Realm after a rehearsal. Macedo later on left the band due to personal reasons. Jakob brought in Stevo to play the guitar to complete the lineup, which did not last long as he too had to leave after a few months. At this time Rosa was brought in. Shortly after that Beyond the Realm got its first oportunity to present the world the hard work they had been doing while playing their first gig. Rosa chose not to play due to his little time in the band. A few weeks later New Year came, with the dismissal of Rosa. And not much longer after that, Lisandro was invited to play the guitar thus completing Beyond the Realm's lineup a week before the ensemble's second gig, a contest arranged by a bar named Cup&Cino located at Forum Madeira. Soon after the second gig, we received a notice from Jakob saying he was going back to his homeland due to some personal issues. Meanwhile we stayed in second place tight with Plastichain at the Cup&Cino's contest. With the knowledge of Jakobs departure, we decided to start looking for a new vocalist right away while Jakob was still in the island, so it would be easier for the new vocalist to fit in and get familiarized with the songs. We found him through a friend who plays guitar in Siamese Cancer. The new acquisition was Marko Zivanovic [Scavneck]. Before Jakob went back to his homeland we decided to arrange some kind of a gig/party at our rehearsal place March the 3rd. We wanted it to be an event where some band friends would show up and would have the oportunity to watch our last gig with Jakob still singing, and have the oportunity to meet our new vocalist who sang Death In Fire by Amon Amarth, a cover song performed by the band that night. We salute Jakob for helping us! He definatly helped the band take a big step in the process of gaining shape for the project. But following the band's tradition on having to change it's formation, due to personal reasons Lisandro left the band [thank you for helping us out and for all of your support, bitch!]. Filling the place left open by Lisandro, a new member, Pedro [ex-Loss], has joined the band, taking the guitar solo position. We are hoping the line-up will stay this way for a longer period of time now, allowing it's band members to have more time to build up new songs and evolve with time.
